Attorney Glen M. Secor
I’ve spent my career with one foot in law and the other in business. I had the good fortune of beginning that career in my family’s business. When my father brought me into the company right out of college, he didn’t just give me my first “real” job. He gave me an opportunity to learn the business inside and out – its people, its processes, its industry, and, most importantly, its values. Chief among those values was an absolute obsession with customer service and satisfaction, a commitment I maintain to this day. It was as CFO & Attorney for that company that I was first able to integrate business and legal strategies and really use the law as a tool to help drive business growth.
I have been both an in-house counsel and an attorney in private practice. In those roles, I have participated in a universe of business transactions and managed all manner of legal issues. Parties to those transactions have ranged from one-person businesses to multinational corporations, from startups to mature companies. My companies and clients have come a wide variety of industries, including publishing, technology, education, research, the arts, and personal fitness.
A lifetime of successful deal-making and problem resolution has taught me that each party in the transaction generally makes out better when the agreement works for all parties. And, of course, the best way to resolve a dispute is to avoid it altogether. We can’t plan for every single contingency in an agreement or an employment policy, but we can plan for those that are most likely and that could impact the interests of the parties most significantly. Through understanding of the transaction or the business issue and expert negotiation and drafting skills, I am able to consistently produce positive outcomes for my clients.
I am a proud alumnus of Stonehill College (B.A., Psychology), Southern New Hampshire University (M.S., Accounting), Suffolk University Law School (J.D.), and Harvard Law School (LL.M, focused on intellectual property and technology law). I am a member of the Massachusetts and New Hampshire Bars and serve as a Trustee of the J.V. Fletcher Public Library in Westford.
